Influence of the projectile description on breakup calculations
نویسنده
چکیده
Calculations of the breakup of B and Be are performed with the aim of analyzing their sensitivity to the projectile description. Several potentials adjusted on the same experimental data are used for each projectile. The results vary significantly with the potential choice, and this sensitivity differs from one projectile to the other. In the B case, the breakup cross section is approximately scaled by the asymptotic normalization coefficient of the initial bound state (ANC). For Be, the overall normalization of the breakup cross section is no longer solely determined by the ANC. The partial waves describing the continuum are found to play a significant role in this variation, as the sensitivity of the phase shifts to the projectile description changes with the physical constraints imposed to the potential.

Peripherality of breakup reactions
Breakup calculations of loosely bound nuclei (B and Be) are performed with two different descriptions of the projectile. The descriptions differ strongly in the interior of the wave function, but exhibit identical asymptotic properties (ANC, and phase shifts). Calculations are performed for both nuclei at intermediate (40–70 MeV/nucleon) and low (26 MeV) energies with heavy and light targets. N...
متن کاملImaginary deuteron optical potential due to elastic and inelastic breakup
In collisions between two nuclei the breakup of the projectile into two or more fragments is often a strong reaction channel, which affects not only the imaginary part but also the real part of the corresponding optical potential. This leads to a dynamical polarization potential (DPP) which has to be added to the real potential calculated by the double folding (DFM) models (see eg. a recent rev...
متن کاملProjectile breakup dynamics for 6 Li + 59 Co : kinematical analysis of α - d coincidences
A study of the kinematics of the α-d coincidences in the Li + Co system at a bombarding energy of Elab = 29.6 MeV is presented. With exclusive measurements performed over different angular intervals it is possible to identify the respective contributions of the sequential projectile breakup and direct projectile breakup components. A careful analysis using a semiclassical approach of these proc...

Recent developments on the understanding of low energy reactions are highlighted. Emphasis is given to the CDCC framework where the breakup channels of the projectile are included explicitly. Properties of the breakup couplings are presented. Comments are given with regard to the separation between the nuclear and the Coulomb contributions to breakup cross sections as well as the dependence on ...
متن کامل0 Calculations of three - body observables in 8 B breakup
We discuss calculations of three-body observables for the breakup of 8B on a 58Ni target at low energy using the coupled discretised continuum channels approach. Calculations of both the angular distribution of the 7Be fragments and their energy distributions are compared with those measured at several laboratory angles. In these observables there is interference between the breakup amplitudes ...
